Winter Solstice Ecstatic Dance

Winter solstice means maximum darkness and the most alluring lights. Dancing is a perfect way to mark this important time. We turn off the lights and dance within a circle of twinkle lights to build our inner glow with festivity and togetherness.   What to Expect:  We will start with a short rest in (near) total darkness so you can arrive and put down whatever is buzzing. Next we will share our names and explore the meaning of this season with discussion and simple actions.   

Then we DANCE!  An hour-long playlist will carry you through an experience of gradual opening, energy building, transformation, release, integration, and rest.   When the music is finished there will be time for optional sharing about anything that happened during the dance. Then we close and return to our lives, filled with joy, light, and connection.  Any form of dancing or movement is allowed as long as it is safe for everyone. All people of all sizes, types, and ages welcome. Guidelines and suggestions for movement will be provided. This is beginner friendly!   Water, blankets, props available for all.   

The space is held by Jeanie Williams who is a trained and experienced facilitator, educator and life coach. She will do everything she can to help you feel welcomed and safe and to craft a meaningful experience for the group. However you are ultimately responsible for your well-being. Participate only in ways that are safe for you. Be gentle with your body, your heart, and your spirit. Also do what you can to help others to feel held and supported.
