About the event
Come and enjoy the healing vibrations of singing bowls, Shruti box, tuning forks, chimes, and other sacred sounds while you relax and meditate. The format of this offering is a short introduction to the sounds you will hear, a long immersion into sound based meditation, and an option to participate in a short mantra practice. The sound bath is appropriate for anyone who is willing to find stillness seated or lying down (with props available for support) and interested in practicing meditation. No prior experience is necessary to participate. Expect to feel amazing!
Jaymi began practicing yoga in 1996 when a friend loaned her a Patricia Walden VHS tape. Soon after, she took a weekend workshop on meditation which introduced her to Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. After studying philosophy and comparative religion in college, the ethical and spiritual practices of yoga came to be a common ground to explore all other philosophies, faiths, and practices. Jaymi strives to find the yoga in everything (from knitting, to music, to skateboarding, to relationships, etc.) so that all of life becomes the practice. Being a curious person, she has applied to principles and practices of yoga to many different disciplines. Completing her yoga teacher training at Cityoga in 2017, Jaymi left her 17 year career in hairdressing to teach yoga full time; teaching over 1,000 hours of classes in the first few years alone. Continuing to study the scriptures, Jaymi began studying Sanskrit to further understand the ancient practices of yoga and apply them in a modern context. She also offers personal, one-on-one yogic lifestyle counseling to those interested in applying yogic practices to any part of their own lives.
